If you’re a professional, you should speak to your safeguarding representative for advice before contacting us. They’ll let you know the best course of action to take based on the information you give.

If you know there’s already a social worker involved with the family, please contact the Safeguarding Teams on 01642 513600.

If you’re not a professional, you can call your local Multi-Agency Children’s Hub (MACH) to let them know that you’re worried about a child. If the child lives in Middlesbrough, call 01642 726004. If the child lives in Redcar & Cleveland, call 01642 130700. It’s helpful if you can give us as much information as you can, for example, who the abuser(s) might be, and whether you’ve noticed any signs of abuse (like bruises) or neglect (like looking unclean).
